Julien Arnold
Godot

Julien has been acting, directing, and teaching professionally here in Edmonton for about 20 years. He has worked with many of city's theatres, including The Citadel Theatre, Teatro La Quindicina, Workshop West, Theatre Network, Leave It To Jane, and Northern Light Theatre. His recent acting credits include Happy Toes at this year's fringe, as well as As You Like It and Richard III with the Freewill Shakespeare Festival in July. His last two shows at Network (as an actor) were Closer and Closer Apart, and the popular Irish comedy A Skull in Connemara. Julien also directed the sequel to that play The Lonesome West as a part of last season's Roxy Performance Series, featuring two of his present classmates, Collin and James. Look for Julien later this season in the Citadel's annual production of A Christmas Carol, as well as The Wizard of Oz. Julien would like to thank Brad Moss for his great generosity of spirit, and for all his great advice and encouragement over the last several years.
Dave Clarke
Sound Designer

Dave is a musician, actor and writer. Recent music and sound for Theatre Network includes Habitat, Hockey Mom, Hockey Dad, A Beautiful View and Misery. Other shows include the Sterling award winning design for Vimy (Citadel Theatre), Planes, Trans & Automobiles (Guys In Disguise), Three Viewings (Shadow Theatre) and An Oak Tree (Maa & Paa Theatre). Dave has been nominated for and won several awards for his work in theatre and film.
Brian Dooley
Vincent

Brian Dooley is an award winning actor and producer. Formerly, Vice President, Creative for Alliance Atlantis, Edmonton, Brian continues to embrace his first love - the stage. For over twenty- five years, Brian has worked throughout the country and abroad. His skills include directing, writing, producing and performing in a variety of media including radio, animation, film, television and the theatre. Trained and educated at the National Theatre School and Bishop’s University, Brian Dooley continues a long-standing relationship with the National Theatre School of Canada where he returns annually as an instructor. Brian believes passionately in the development of new work and always welcomes the opportunity to lend his support and skills to new plays and playwrights. He most recently formed a new production company called Distractions based in Edmonton. Brian draws inspiration from the Mexican playwright Victor Hugo Rascon Banda’s fervent message: “The theatre moves, illuminates, disquiets, disturbs, lifts the spirit, reveals, provokes and violates conventions. It is a conversation shared with society. Theatre is the first art to confront emptiness, shadows and silence to make words, movement, lights and life surge forth.”
Collin Doyle
Linus

Collin Doyle is an Edmonton based writer and actor. His plays Dear Penthouse and Nighthawk Rules (with James Hamilton) were critical and popular successes at the Edmonton Fringe in 2004 and 2005. Nighthawk Rules received two sterling awards for Outstanding Fringe Production and Outstanding New Fringe Work. His award winning play The Mighty Carlins premiered at Workshop West in January. He is currently writing a new play on teen violence commissioned by Concrete Theatre. As an actor Collin has worked at the Citadel Theatre, Alberta Theatre Projects, Workshop West Theatre, Azimuth Theatre, Geordie Theatre, and with The Bedlam Theatre Concern. Collin performed in the world premiere production of Mary’s Wedding, the Canadian Premiere production of The Pillowman, and he is a Sterling nominated actor for his performance in Edward Albee’s The Zoo Story. Collin is a graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada.
Brendan Gall
Playwright

A graduate of George Brown Theatre School, Brendan has written three plays: Panhandled (UnSpun Theatre), A Quiet Place (Single Threat – 2007 Dora nomination: Best New Play), and Alias Godot (Tarragon Theatre – 2007 Dora nomination: Best New Play). An earlier version of Alias Godot was translated into Italian and performed in Florence as part of Teatro Della Limonaia’s 2006 Intercity Festival and subsequently remounted the following year as part of their 20th anniversary retrospective. Brendan has also collaborated on the collective creations Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump and Don’t Wake Me (with UnSpun Theatre), I Keep Dropping Sh*t and Dedicated to the Revolutions (with Small Wooden Shoe), contributed pieces to Convergence Theatre’s multi-playwright environmental shows The Gladstone Variations and AutoShow, and written the feature film Dakota (distributed by Mongrel Media). Brendan developed Alias Godot through the Playwrights Unit at Tarragon Theatre, where he is currently a Playwright-in-Residence. He is also an actor.
James Hamilton
Rocko

James is thrilled to be a making his Theatre Network debut with such a fantastic gang! A co-founder of the Elizabeth Sterling Haynes award-winning theatre company, the Bedlam Theatre Concern, James has appeared in shows like the Fringe hit, Nighthawk Rules, Northern Light Theatre’s Silence, and Workshop West’s The Mighty Carlins for both of which he received a Sterling nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Supporting Actor. Other notable onstage appearances include; Diamond Dog (Panties Republic), The Lonesome West (Atlas Theatre), God’s Favoured Child- A Rant (Azimuth Theatre), White Mice (E&EO Productions), The Play I Did At Last Year’s Fringe (Schnook Productions). James is also a playwright whose works include: The Amaze-o-nauts Must Die, Center of Attention, The Hole in My Head (all for Bedlam Theatre Concern). He is also a frequent contributor to Northern Light Theatre’s Urban Tales reading series.
Lisa Hancharek
Set, Props, Costume Designer

Lisa is thrilled to be designing her first show for Theatre Network! A graduate from University of Alberta’s MFA Theatre Design Program (2005), Lisa spends her time designing between Winnipeg and Edmonton. She would like to thank Mr. Moss for giving her this wonderful opportunity, the fantastic cast of Alias Godot, Team Face, Paktantos and the great staff at Theatre Network. Some of her most recent design credits include: production design for 25 Plays About…Love (Cowardly Lion Productions, Edm. Fringe), assistant set and lighting designer on As You Like It and Richard III (Freewill Players), assistant production designer for Misery (Theatre Network), set design for MacGregor’s Hard Ice Cream and Gas (Shadow Theatre), set and costume design for Munsch Ado About Nothing (Prairie Theatre Exchange, Winnipeg), set, costume, and lighting design for A Number (Trunk Theatre, Edmonton), set design for The Flyfisher’s Companion (Shadow Theatre, Edmonton), design apprentice at Manitoba Theatre Centre in Winnipeg for Over the Tavern, and set and costume design for Love You Forever and Other Stories (Prairie Theatre Exchange, Winnipeg).
Cheryl Millikin
Stage Manager

Cheryl’s career as a Stage Manager has taken her on many shows across Canada, touring to the UK and to Australia as well as many productions here in Edmonton with Catalyst Theatre, Workshop West Theatre, Theatre Network and The Citadel Theatre. Last season Cheryl Stage Managed A Beautiful View and Choke, for Theatre Network and she is delighted to be back with this season’s opener of Alias Godot. Cheryl also works in the film, television and music industries when not doing theatre. She hopes you have as many laughs as she has, with this great company of talent! Enjoy.
Bradley Moss
Director

Bradley is elated to be directing Alias Godot and to be doing it with such a great cast and crew. Originally from Montreal, Bradley is an MFA graduate in directing from the University Alberta. He joined Theatre Network in 1995 to create the multidisciplinary emerging artist festival – Nextfest. Recent productions for Theatre Network include: Misery, A Beautiful View, Closer And Closer Apart, Hockey Mom, Hockey Dad, the Sterling Award Winning play Summer Of My Amazing Luck, True West, Girl In The Goldfish Bowl, The Leisure Society, Hosanna, Marion Bridge, A Skull In Connemara, Midlife, the Sterling Award Winning glam rock musical Hedwig And The Angry Inch, For The Pleasure Of Seeing Her Again, Lawrence & Holloman, A Guide To Mourning, and High Life.
Scott Peters
Lighting Designer

Scott has been resident Production Manager and sometime Lighting Designer at Theatre Network for the last four seasons, and looks forward to the one ahead. Highlights include Misery, A Beautiful View, Closer and Closer Apart, The Summer of My Amazing Luck, Marion Bridge, True West. Other recent credits include Production Design for Jumpin' Jack, Set and Lighting Design for A Rocky Night For His Nibs (Teatro Quendicina), Set and Lighting Design for Almost, Maine (Shadow Theatre), Lighting Design for The Kitchen Witches (Mayfield Dinner Theatre). Scott has been arrested once, but never charged.
Christopher Schulz
Edward

Christopher is just “tarred-and-feathered” with delight to be making his Theatre Network debut with this play, and with this cast and crew. Some previous theatre credits include Macbeth (National Arts Centre/Citadel Theatre), Equus (Citadel Theatre), Lawrence & Holloman (Image Theatre), Proof (Ignition Theatre), The Neo-Nancies: Hitler's Kickline (Guys in Disguise), Mary's Wedding (Prime Stock Theatre), Juggernaut (Nextfest ’08), The C-Word (Theatre Elysium), and Amadeus, Love of the Nightingale and Richard III (Centre Stage Theatre). Last year, Chris was also involved in both The Hullabaloo Revue and The Acting Hackting Schmackting Revue (No Bones Theatre) as an actor, writer and director. Chris can next be seen this season in Northern Light Theatre’s production of Some Girl(s) by Neil LaBute...Enjoy the show!
